Below is taken from the R.S.A. statement which states that Essential Workers finishing off their E.D.T. lessons can go ahead from the 10th May but this will hopefully be clarified as to when everyone else fits into the picture. If you are an ESSENTIAL WORKER, have started your EDT lessons and looking to get back going again from the 10th please text me and give me all the times you are available so I can start scheduling you in. Things will be a bit challenging to get everyone sorted at the start but hopefully I will be able to accommodate all. The more availability you have the better chance of getting started sooner. Once I have a slot available I will text back to confirm. As soon as clarification comes on any other groups I will put up another notice. Thanks for your support and understanding.
Ministers confirm gradual reopening of some road safety services
Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan TD, and Minister of State Hildegarde Naughton TD have confirmed the gradual reopening of some road safety services provided by the Road Safety Authority and the driving instruction industry from the 10 May 2021.
The government has decided that;
1. Initial Basic Training (IBT), the programme of mandatory lessons that all learner motorcyclists must complete with an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) before sitting a driving test, can resume from 10 May. The RSA will continue to deliver motorcycle testing.
2. Essential Driver Training (EDT) sessions will recommence for those essential workers who have not completed EDT from 10 May. (up to now, under level 5 restrictions no EDT sessions were allowed). The RSA will also reopen its EDT Online Portal, on 10 May, to allow Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs) to upload EDT sessions completed by essential workers.
